What I Sometimes Do Between Projects: Make Huckleberry Jam

WHEN I’M BETWEEN PROJECTS or in need of a distraction from the waiting game, one of the things I do is make huckleberry jam. From picking the berries with my husband to tackling the canning process I learned from my Grandma Roggenkamp, I’m all in. I follow the Sure-Jell ‘cooked jam’ recipe for blueberries, but double the pectin on account of the stubborn nature of wild huckleberries. That’s it…sort of.
